knit to donate
In Hilandia also we knit to donate.
Since 2014, when this exciting project began, I started knitting not only to sell, but also to help with my hands, knitting for different entities: Red Madre, Caritas, IAIA, catastrophes that make people vulnerable, workshops la pajarera, classroom for children admitted to the Hospital de la Paz.
In this eagerness to collaborate, I have set up different initiatives
The most supportive scarf in the world
We want to promote the value of sheep’s wool and for this we have launched a solidarity initiative, knitting the most supportive scarf in the world, a scarf for everyone.
An easy and supportive challenge
We invite people who want to collaborate to knit a scarf with wool, with very few requirements, it must be made of wool, have a minimum width of 20 cm and a length of 120 cm or more.
We have received more than 240 scarves from collectives and people from all over Spain.
The success of the initiative has been such that RTVE has joined in through the programme España Directo with the proposal Bufanda Tour.
Between all of us we have managed to get almost a kilometre of scarf to donate to IAIA. We have brought a little happiness to more than 1,000 people.
More than 700 people have joined in knitting for the Challenge.

Proposal for the Guinness World Record
The most supportive scarf in the world is a unique initiative that has been proposed to join the Guinness Book of Records. We will keep you updated on how this proposal evolves.
We are delighted that many people have joined our challenge, as well as helping with their scarf, we have also encouraged people to knit who didn’t do it or had forgotten to do it and have proudly seen their scarf in the Spinning Solidarity Exhibition.
Destination of the scarves
These scarves have been delivered through the solidarity knitting association IAIA to the project ReyesMagos de verdad, bringing warmth at Christmas to underprivileged children and the elderly.
